Maya & Blake Las Vegas Wedding – June 25th, 2011

Published by

I Love Matchy-Matchy!
Maya & Blake
June 25, 2011

Blake and Maya, a local Las Vegas couple, got married at Cili on a beautiful Saturday in June, we were worried that late in June would be hot, but it was a gorgeous day! They choose silver and yellow for their colors and everything for that day matched perfectly from the yellow bride and bridesmaids shoes to the placecards and flowers!

The ceremony was held on Cili’s Enclosed Patio, facing out at the Bali Hai Golf Course. Our florist constructed a beautiful bamboo arch with yellow flowers (roses, callas and billy balls) to match Maya’s colors. Maya held a bouquet of white peonies with just a few splashes of bright yellow roses, the girls held a handful of yellow callas with a little greenery surrounding the base.

Silver pintuck linens (RSVP Party Rentals) were a perfect match for the bright yellow centerpieces in three styles; tall cylinders holding curly willow with yellow cymbidium orchids attached, a medium glass cylinder with whole lemons and yellow callas, and a round glass vase with sliced lemon and a variety of white, yellow and green flowers.

Maya’s sister, a graphic artist, created all of the wedding collateral; the invitations, placecards, programs and even the cute table numbers on sticks to place in the centerpieces. I love when a plan comes together!

Popular Las Vegas Wedding Planner Ties the Knot at Cili

Published by

We recently hosted the wedding of Ada Casanova and Arnaud Masset, Ada is the Wedding Chapel Manager at Mandalay Bay and Arnaud is the Executive Sous Chef at Mandalay Bay.  It was wonderful to work with two individuals who really understand the business, both weddings and food!  The pressure was certainly on to make their day picture perfect, in my opinion, it could not have turned out better!

First of all the whole week had been hot and windy (seems like typical LV weather lately), and the day of their wedding the wind ceased and the temperature was a dreamy 85 degrees, perfect for a ceremony on Cili’s outdoor patio.  Ada looked AMAZING, one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot!  Her dress was incredible, her hair, her make-up, and her bouquet – gorgeous!

Ada went through similar problems that I had when I got married, we can envision the dream, and we are used to fulfilling those dreams for other brides, but when it is your own, you can’t be there the day of to supervise!  Other things need to be taken care of; hair, make-up, getting dressed, and taking pictures of how good we look all dressed up!  Ada didn’t need to worry, she had help from some fabulous vendors, I am sure they are the people she works with on a daily basis, but they took good care of her on her wedding day!

Her florist arrived around 10am and worked until the start of the wedding at 4:30pm!  The flowers were so amazing, all white, the most beautiful white roses I have ever seen, there were some hydrangeas, peonies (my favorite), and a few white tulips thrown in the mix.  Tall cylinder vases lined the ceremony, each held curly willow, more white roses, and hanging votives.  The guest table centerpieces featured clusters of glass cylinders with some funky round gels, candles, white roses, and white feathers, so cute!

The cake was amazing, but I would not expect anything less from the Pastry Chef’s at Mandalay Bay, Ada told them a few of her inspirations  and they came up with a masterpiece!  Her linens were a turquoise color with a gold overlay, she added gold chivari chairs with turquoise ties, all from Diahann Hall from by-dzign, they were stunning and looked like they belonged at this wedding!

Encore Productions provided a custom made gobo that illuminated on the wall, Shutterbooth provided the “favors” take home strips of photos, Cashman handled the photography and video, Adam from Knightsounds was the DJ, and the piano player from Mandalay Bay played for the ceremony and the cocktail reception.

Between Ada’s vision and the hard work of the vendors, it really turned out to be a magical day.

Cili Undergoes Complete Interior Remodel

Published by

Cili Undergoes a Remodel!

Cili shut down the last week of July to work on a facelift! The $350k remodel included new carpet, new restaurant chairs, and some fun structural changes. We were not sad to see the large bar seating area go! It was replaced with a Plexiglass and bamboo piece, with identical screens placed in the service areas of the restaurant.

The green velvet round couch was removed from the foyer area and a “golfers lounge” was created. Beautiful new chairs were added to the lounge and marble tables atop Balinese bases with animal fixtures. Two flat screen televisions were added, with easy access to the bar, it is the perfect place to relax after a round of golf.

A large linen curtain was added between the Main Dining Room and the Grill Room. The curtain this will help section off this space for the numerous association luncheons that are held monthly.

The warm carpet colors of orange and red are a perfect fit for the new restaurant chairs that feature a square back dark wood frame and burgundy seat. They are slightly smaller in size than the previous restaurant chairs, allowing (8) to fit around our round tables for catered functions.

Please feel free to stop in and see how beautiful the changes are!

Thank you to David and Ingrid from Images by Ingrid for the photos!

Speciality Cakes of Cili

Published by

Last year Cili hired a new Pastry Chef, Heather Dolton, (see Bio below). In the six months that Heather has been with us, she has produced some fabulous cakes for Cili Weddings and events. From sugar flowers to crystals and every color of the rainbow, the bride and grooms have been over-the-top happy with the looks of the wedding cakes and of course how awesome they taste as well!

One fun challenge was a “spider web” cake a couple requested, they brought in a Frankenstein and Bride for cake toppers, Heather created the “haunted” tree in the picture below as well as 3-d spider webs coming off of the cake. For a child’s birthday party, she created a Tonka Truck, which hauled dirt, dirt being crushed up cookies! An “over-the-hill” birthday party had a “coffin” design to match the invitations!

Have a look at some of the cakes Heather has produced:
